We've been hearing for a while that we are about to see a new honor phone soon – the rumored honor 8. Essentially, a scaled-down version of the honor V8, the phone would still feature the Huawei-signature dual cameras on its back, the same upper midrange hardware, but would have a smaller, 5.2-inch display (as opposed to the 5.7 inches on the V8).
A new report has come up, pointing at the new handset's exact announcement and release dates, as well as the prices for four different variants of the honor 8. Furthermore, according to the leakster, this information will be officially confirmed by honor or its parent company — Huawei — on the 25th of June.
The honor 8's hardware is expected to consist of a 5.2-inch 1080 x 1920 display, a Huawei-made Kirin 950 or 955 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, and a USB Type-C data port.
So, allegedly, the phone will be announced on the 5th of July and will hit store shelves on the 12th. Its configurations will be split in 4 price tiers – the cheapest one will go for about $304 (¥1,999) and will feature 32 GB of storage, but will have no NFC chip. The second one has the same storage amount but adds NFC and will cost around $334 (¥2,199). Further up the price ladder, we have a 64 GB model for $380 (¥2,499) and a premium one with a QHD (1440 x 2560) resolution and 128 GB of memory for $425 (¥2,799).
